Energy Resource: a naturally-occuring form of energy or energy-containing material that is particularly useful due one or more of the following features:

• High energy density: large amount of energy per unit mass or volume.
• Ease of conversion to other useful forms of energy.
• Ease with which it can be transported with small losses.
• Stability: doesn't spontaneously decay, or does so in a predictable and controllable manner.
• Abundance: large quantities are readily available.

Energy resources may be classified into two basic types: renewable energy resources and non-renewable energy resources.
